Happy New Year to All

We hope you are had a great New Year's Eve and are up and enjoying the day.

We had a big day of errands yesterday, putting about 15 miles on the bikes to get to WalMart and Home Depot. We picked up a few goodies at HD- a small padlock for the Y-valve so the Potty Police will be satisfied with our no-discharge setup, a big rubber backed carpet door mat for Bella to potty on at the bow(we decided it wasn't really good for the gelcoat for her to be peeing on it and it also compromises our ablility to catch fresh rainwater on the decks and divert it to our water tanks), and some other things. We also made a run to Publix and Fresh Market, but didn't need much there.

On the way back, I spotted a Alan's Bicycle shop- I have been badly needing to find one to replace my chain. We darted in and found a really nice bunch of folks. They set me up with a new chain, new middle chainring and new 7speed cassette(rear sprockets). Carryn found a comfy "ladies" seat that she hopes will be a little easier on her bottomsides. The guys installed the drivetrain and tuned it up nice. It pedals like a new machine- not bad for a 20 year old bike that I bought when I was in college.

So we got back to the boat and found we seemed to be missing quite a few things from the Walmart bags, when we concluded that we had left a whole bag at the register. I hate those "turntable" baggers that walmart uses. They really make it likely that you will leave a bag on it the way they spin it around. We called WM and they said "no problem, just come back in and we'll take care of it". Crap- another 15 mile ride to get a sack of stuff. But we need it, so we planned on heading in today.

But the weather has other plans. We woke this morning to light rain, and it has continued all day so far. There is a pretty nasty cold front moving in and we will be treated to NW winds 20-25 knots and mornign temps in the 40's.

But this negative was trumped by a big positive- our friends Ted and Noreen from Savannah are driving back from Ft Lauderdale adn want to drop in and visit us. We are thrilled. Our first visitors! Even though the weather is crappy, I'm sure we'll have a great time. We look forward to catching up with them(even though we have only been gone a week and a half).

We're heading to meet them and go for a little lunch- and a car trip to WalMart!!

Wow sounds like great plan for today. Phewie on the ride to Walmart, and really great to see friends in the process. I slept in--no surprise on that front. Now just watching Tom watch football. You are getting our package of weather. They say it will stay sunny now here, but cold.

Mary invited all of us for New Years day at her home. I think we'll go for awhile. Taylor is still sleeping --it's 1 pm. But given he's playing online until 3 am, I can appreciate the late snooze factor.

We may have a small deal at our house for the Texans game on Sunday--the last hoorah before heading back to work on Monday.

Tom's plan is to take down decorations this Monday. We put things up a little late, so eeking out last few days of holiday spirit.

We had some friends come over unplanned last night, and it was nice. The gasket blowing on the pool certainly scrubbed the hot tub time. Oh well. . .

I made breakfast casserole again for Taylor and Tom. Taylor loves it, so what the heck.

Vero Beach marina area looks really nice; I can see why you stayed for a bit.

Enjoy the new years day.

With love,
Lynn

Hi WyRocks,
I just showed J&B the blog with pics of Bella.
Ben said, "Aw, Bella-gimmee a hug." No lie. They're missin' y'all big time. All is fine here; back to school on Tuesday.
Be safe and happy sailing!
Miss you, Ellen

Tell Ben and Jack that Bella loves and misses them too! She is doing great outside missing all of her favorite peeps! We are in Stuart, FL on another mooring ball. We hooked up w/sailing buddies from Sail Harbor, Savannah, Ga. Just returned from their boat about an hour ago. Tappas and booze on Sunday night woowee good stuff. Went to the local marine store for some goodies and it took us 5 miles to do it but nice time. Still cold though not as bad as it has been for you all (don't miss it just our buddies).

Keep posting and we will do the same and start sending the boys cards here and there....

Love to all
Carrym

Hey, Hey,
Things seem to be going to plan. I notice no mention made of fresh seafood dinners??? Guess all of the underwater photography will wait until you reach warmer waters as well.

Glad to hear that Bella will not be blowing up with poop (no interest in seeing the picture though)!!

Half expect to see you on "Life styles of the rich and famous" any day.

All of the cycling to Wal-Mart allows for another beer remember. Assuming that the false floor is still in place since beer prices in FL are not the problem.

Nice to hear you are still frequenting THD, we appreciate it.

Keep the blog going. It's fun reading. Hope to see you in the islands on a fly in later this year!

Ron
