Windy Miami

So it has been almost a week here in Miami and will be another week before we can safely cross the Gulf Stream. Have to admit there is a touch of cabin fever happening for Carryn. The mooring field is extremely choppy with Sout East winds gusting up to 20 knots and our boat is 1/2 mile from the marina. Crossing in the dinghy = three very cold, salty wet individuals. However, the good news is this marina offers a free water taxi to all of us in the mooring field. We used this service today to safely make it to shore with minimal water spray. Saturday our boating buddies from Las Sirenas (means little mermaids) arrived in the anchorage. You may recall us mentioning this family from earlier posts. We originally met them in St. Augustine at Christmas. They made the hop over to Miami from Ft Lauderdale with no problems. It was there first ocean passage. Our plan is to cross the Gulf Stream together along with another boat we also met in St. Augustine, Paul, Ela and Gus on SV Southern Bella. This is a HUGE comfort for us! It will be a first for all of us. The weather here for the next few days looks bad so the plan is to get off the boat via the water taxi. Tonight we plan on having game night on the boat and perhaps swap movies with Las Sirenas.

Hope you all having a wonderful weekend plan to post pictures another time when the internet connection is stronger.

PS
We still have an email address svsolmate@gmail.com so please send us photos whenever you get a chance we love pictures and staying connected! It took over an hour just to get this little message posted...oye, vey. Nope message never posted today, perhaps tomorrow???
